With St. Patrick’s day just around the corner, it’s got us thinking about ways to celebrate this Irish holiday a bit differently. Instead of digging that one green shirt out of our closet or heading straight to a cheesy Irish pub to down a beer or two, we’ve decided this year calls for some new inspiration. More specifically, the edible kind.
So what’s on the menu for this Patty’s Day? Traditional Irish ingredients are taken to new heights at some of our favorite Los Angeles restaurants. Let’s call this our upgrade from last year’s shamrock cupcakes…
1. Han Mi Jung

Irish Ingredient: Cabbage
Kimchi just became the new cabbage roll. If you’re seeking flavor, head over to Han Mi Jung for their Goat Stew which pairs so well with their kimchi. Expect something that’ll take your taste buds to a whole new level.
2. Little Dom’s

Irish Ingredient: Potatoes
Get your hearty fill of carbs with the fried potatoes at Little Dom’s. There’s plenty more on the menu to ensure you leave with a bit o’ extra cushion for pinch attacks.
3. Wexler’s Deli

Irish Ingredient: Corned Beef
Layer it on up with a mouthwatering sandwich at Wexler’s Deli. The pickle on the side makes it a ‘green’ dish by our standards. This unconventional St. Patrick’s Day restaurant is one of our faves and can be ordered for takeout!
4. EMC Seafood

Irish Ingredient: Shellfish
Go for the Uni Pasta and Lobster Roll at EMC Seafood…and stay for the raw oyster bar.
5. Rize Thai Sushi

Irish Ingredient: Salmon
Baked, smoked, raw – we don’t discriminate when it comes to salmon, especially when it’s served at Rize Thai Sushi.
